Who we are

Left Hand Initiative Center is a non-governmental organization dedicated to putting an end to the stigma and pressure placed on left-handed individuals to switch to their right hand.

Our mission is to raise awareness about the unique challenges left-handed people face and to offer them the support they need.

We stand by the belief that every individual should have the freedom to use the hand that feels most natural and comfortable to them.

Supporting Left-Handed Children: A Practical Workshop for Parents, Teachers & Therapists

Working with left-handed children? Whether you're a teacher, parent, or therapist, this workshop is for you.

Many left-handed kids struggle with everyday tasks like cutting, drawing, and forming letters or numbers. These challenges can be frustrating—both for them and for the adults trying to help. But did you know that just a few simple adjustments can make a big difference?

In this engaging, hands-on workshop, you'll learn:

  • How to teach fine motor skills in ways that suit left-handed learners

  • Common issues faced by lefties, like the “hooked grip” and messy handwriting—and how to prevent them

  • Why left-dominant individuals often think differently, and how to support their unique approach to learning

  • Easy, practical strategies to improve their comfort and confidence

You'll even get a chance to “think like a lefty” and experience their challenges firsthand.

Can’t attend in person?
A recorded version of the workshop is available for purchase—perfect for group viewing from the comfort of home or school.

Skill Development

Our projects focus on skill development, providing resources and training for educators to effectively teach left-handed students, fostering confidence and competence in essential tasks like writing and drawing.
